Vision

Next Generation Engineering

The vision of the Center for Systems Engineering (CSE) is Next Generation Engineering: the development and testing of key technologies for the product engineering process (PEP) of tomorrow. We strive to enable highly iterative, agile and semi-automated product development by using intelligent networking and model-based approaches. In an increasingly digitally networked world, mastering product complexity will be decisive for the innovative strength and competitiveness of companies. As CSE, we work with you to develop a modern, efficient, digital and end-to-end product development process that represents a paradigm shift from document-based to model-based development.

Model-Based Systems Engineering

Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is the approach to developing complex systems that relies on models instead of traditional documents. It enables a comprehensive representation of the system and promotes collaboration between disciplines. Using standardized modelling languages (e.g. SysML) and tools, it improves efficiency, traceability and decision-making during the development process.

AI-powered engineering

AI-powered engineering uses artificial intelligence to solve complex engineering problems more efficiently. By using machine learning and data analysis, processes are automated, design iterations are optimized and performance improvements are achieved. This speeds up development, reduces costs and promotes innovation.

Circular lifecycle engineering

Circular lifecycle engineering optimizes the entire lifecycle of products to minimize resource consumption and environmental impact. By integrating circular economy concepts, products and materials are designed in such a way that they can be reused, recycled or biodegraded, which reduces waste and improves resource efficiency.

Mission

Your partner for systems engineering

As the Center for Systems Engineering (CSE), we would like to support and accompany you on your way to becoming a successful MBSE company, whether as a user or a solution provider. Through modern technologies and the promotion of best practices, we want to take a leading role with you in the design and development of complex systems.

At CSE, we see ourselves not only as pioneers in the world of systems engineering, but also as a driving force that empowers companies to tackle the challenges of tomorrow with new ideas and expertise. Our goal is to revolutionize the development and implementation of system solutions through our expertise and our cross-industry network, thereby exerting a lasting positive influence on the industry and its innovative strength.

Strategy

A strong network for interdisciplinary exchange

At the Center for Systems Engineering (CSE), we combine the expertise of RWTH Aachen University and leading industrial companies in the field of model-based systems engineering. Our aim is to create an interdisciplinary network that answers relevant questions on the implementation of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Through close cooperation between science and industry, we accelerate the exchange of knowledge and enable practical validation of methods and processes.
